The brief was to create a symbol that would reflect the improvising nature of jazz music. I created a broken musical note symbolizing improvisation in jazz, which was made of three instruments crucial for jazz – trumpet, piano and percussion’s high-hats. Dynamic brush strokes add to the character and nature of jazz music.
